Summary

In  the  “ Taming  Macho  Ways”,   author  Elvia  Alvarado  describes   about  relationships  between  men   and   women   in  Campesino   family.  She   suggest   that   despite   the  fact   that  women   can   work    in  some   cases   even   harder  than  men  we  see   a  lot  of  discrimination   to   women.  The  author   tell   us  about  how   men  in  Campesino   house  never    help   their   women    to   keep    house,  care   about  children despite  in  a  lot  of  city   families   men   always  help  women  even   cook   meal   for  all   family.    In   Campesino   house   men   can  even  beat  women  if they  yell   to  their  husbands    and  they   can’t  ask   help   even  in  police   since  police  say  it’s  family  busyness .  Also   very  big  problem   is  that   men  in  Campesino   house   drink   almost  all  the  time.   Author   think  that   the  reason  of  all  this  is   our   sick  society  which   can’t  supply   job  and  prosperity   for  people.

Ruined date

Last  weekend  I  had   a    date   with  my  girlfriend ,  we  had  a  lot  of  fun  ,    we  went  for  a  movie   and  later   we   stopped  for  a  candle  dinner  in  a  good   looking  restaurant.   I    asked  her  “  What     would  you  like?” ,    she   said  “  I  would   vegetarian  pizza” ,  I   said “  I will  have   steak “.     When  our    waiter   gave  us   our  food  my   girlfriend   suddenly   said “ Look   this   food  is  dirty”.     She  was   absolutely   right   the    big    ugly     fly   was  on  a  top   of  my  steak.

I  called   our   waiter   and   asked  him   to  give  me   another   steak   but  he  said   “  I  can  change  your    food   but   we  will    charge  you  extra  price”.   After  his   words  I  lost   my  temper   ,  I  started    yelling  at  him   and   insist  that  they  change   my  food  without  any   extra   cost.  When  I  saw  that    our   argument    useless   I  asked  him  to  call  his  manager  since  I  want   to  talk   with  him.   When   he   went    to  call   manager  my  girlfriend   said  me “ Ok  this  is  enough  for  me  I’ll  go”   and  she  had  gone    I  tried   to  stop   her  but   I  couldn’t   she  was   very    angry.    I  came  back  in  restaurant,   talked  with  manager   they   of  course  didn’t   charge  me  for   food  but  my   date   that   begun  so   good   at  the  end   was  ruined .
